Angmering defeated Mountfield in the final of this competition which was played at Plumpton. The two teams had previously played the week before in the Knock out Cup which proved to be a very competitive match and thus the club were fully aware of how well they would have to play in order to succeed.

Angmering won the toss and elected to bat first and again they came up against the excellent bowling of Jane Anderson. Shock waves went round the ground as early wickets fell, notably Melissa who was caught behind the wicket for 18 runs. Mountfield were in control of the game but Karen Chapman had other ideas. She brought some sensible batting to order and with some excellent partnerships with Connie and Laura enabled the team to finish with 267 runs. Karen finished on 110 runs not out, not bad for someone who retired a couple of years ago and rarely gets to bat!

What happened next is difficult to put into words but Angmering put in a fielding performance that was absolutely faultless. The team took all 10 wickets in 15 overs, reducing the opposition to just 67 runs. Superb bowling from Lynda and Rachel and excellent slip fielding and catching brought about a performance that was truly outstanding.

Once again the Sussex County Stoolball Association ordered sunshine for the Seaford Tournament and they were not disappointed. The weather provided everyone with an enjoyable Sunday, filled with some entertaining stoolball. The early games of the competition were in group stages and the club was drawn against, Maresfield, Clayton, Wealdon and Mountfield. Having won the first three games, a win in the final game against Mountfield would ensure the team a place in the semi final. Angmering scored 64 runs in their allotted 4 overs and then Mountfield seemed to make the game look so easy by scoring three boundaries off the first three deliveries. At this point the spectators were about to witness an upset but the team dug deep and showed real spirit and determination to ensure a very hard fought victory.

Angmering defeated Stone Cross in the semi final and went on to play Horsted Keynes in the final. In the first over Kelly restricted the opposition to only 8 runs and took one wicket, Connie taking a very good catch on the boundary. Rachels second over was similar with only 9 runs scored and one wicket taken, this time, Gill dismissing the opening batsmen with a quick reaction catch from behind the wicket. Horsted Keynes scored a total of 45 runs and then consistent batting by Melissa and Laura enabled the team to win without the loss of a wicket and with an over to spare.
